Essential Functions

Pay Rate $18.25 per hour.

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)



  • To produce feed by safely operating all feed mill production equipment including but not limited to Mixing, Pelleting, and Grinding systems.
  • Under the Operation Manager's Supervision, prioritize feed production sequences.
  • Ensure feed formulas are entered correctly.
  • Use automated equipment to manufacture (mix, grind, weigh & pellet) various types of feed: and determine what bin the feed will be placed in.
  • Keep accurate production records, batch logs, pellet mill activity logs, micro-ingredient inventory, down time logs, etc.
  • Take feed samples to ensure good quality.
  • Perform general housekeeping of production area to meet OSHA standards and maintain a minimum dust level, as well as a clean working environment.
  • Maintaining adequate levels of product in micro ingredient bins.
  • Communicate with Operations Supervisor, Dispatcher and Feed Scheduler to meet delivery needs.
  • Inform Maintenance personnel of any equipment problems.
  • Assist in training of new employees.
  • Additional duties, as instructed and/or assigned by management.

Qualifications


  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of computer systems is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to learn to operate forklift.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be able to learn new concepts and procedures quickly.
  • Must be able to work flexible, rotating shifts to include weekends and holidays.
