You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, and maintain scalable business system solutions that improve efficiency, enhance transparency, and enable teams to do their best work. This role blends hands-on development, system administration, and stakeholder partnership, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical depth and business impact.

Why This Role Matters

The systems you'll support and enhance are mission-critical:

  • Jira Cloud supports approximately 2,000 R&D users, powering software delivery and service workflows

Recently, the team:

  • Your work will directly impact on how teams plan, execute, and deliver across the organization.

What You'll Do

Technical Responsibilities

  • Participate across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, monitor
  • Design and implement integrations, custom workflows, automations, and extensions for SaaS platforms
  • Write high-quality, production-grade code with appropriate testing, documentation, logging, and error handling
  • Build scalable, supportable solutions aligned with architectural patterns and enterprise standards
  • Monitor system health and performance using enterprise logging and monitoring tools
  • Provide advanced production support, including root-cause analysis and system upgrades
  • Lead and execute platform upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives

Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and define milestones
  • Translate business needs into clear technical designs and solutions
  • Communicate progress, risks, and delivery timelines with transparency
  • Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams

What Success Looks Like

In Your First 90 Days

  • Ramp up on system architecture by reviewing technical designs, system diagrams, test plans, FAQs, and knowledge base documentation
  • Gain access to and hands-on familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Jira, Wrike, Azure, and internal platforms
  • Join regular stakeholder syncs and become an active contributor
  • Begin supporting operational requests and smaller enhancements

As a Top Performer, You Will:

  • Deliver high-quality, peer-reviewed, tested, and well-documented solutions
  • Consistently meet milestone and delivery commitments
  • Proactively define project milestones during the requirements phase
  • Maintain accurate tracking of work in a project management system
  • Communicate clearly and transparently with stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to automate, optimize, and improve system usability

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years administering enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow)
  • 3+ years designing, developing, scripting, and testing production-grade software
  • Intermediate proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python, or C++)
  • Strong written technical documentation skills
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships
  • Must be able to work out of Overland Park, KS

Preferred

  • Experience transforming manual processes into self-service workflows
  • Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts (incident, problem, change, knowledge management)
  • Experience using AI-assisted development or project management tools

On-Call & Work Schedule

  • Participation in a rotational on-call schedule, which may require availability outside standard business hours
  • Hybrid work model with an expectation of 3 days per week onsite (Tuesday-Thursday) in Overland Park, KS
