As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining Ascentek's financial integrity by supporting the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and delivering accurate, timely financial statements. You will prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations, record journal entries, conduct detailed financial analysis, and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency. This role will also support our Reliable Plus car wash division by owning their related accounting work and applying the percentage of completion revenue recognition accounting principle. Additionally, this role will support merger and acquisition activities and partner with business segments to resolve issues and implement best practices. Your expertise will contribute to clear financial reporting, informed business decisions, and a culture of continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Prepare reconciliations and supporting documentation for assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Participate in the monthly financial review process by researching and providing commentary around financial variances.
  • Perform project percentage of completion revenue and cost recognition.
  • Partner with FP&A to provide feedback to business leaders on financial performance.
  • Participate in special financial projects as assigned by finance and business leadership
  • Ownership of lease accounting under ASC 842.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts, including distribution centers, vehicle and warehouse locations.
  • Partner and collaborate with business leaders to provide clear guidance, support and change management when needed in the execution of accounting processes.
  • Work with business leadership to calculate sales incentive compensation.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements based on financial review findings
  • Assist with annual and bank audits by preparing schedules and answering audit questions
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing



Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field


Experience and/or Training:



  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, manufacturing, or distribution environments


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Advanced Excel skills and database management proficiency
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards) and database reporting tools


  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation



Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:



  • Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and use of hands for computer work
  • Occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs
  • Office-based work environment with moderate noise levels
  • Requires strong reasoning, decision-making, and math skills



The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $73,518 and $95,000 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:

  2. Education and certifications: Any additional qualifications that enhance your ability to succeed in the role.
