Genesis10 is currently seeking a Release and Environment Management Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jacksonville, FL, Charlotte, NC and Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This individual will be a part of the Release and Environment Management team, handling critical applications within the payments domain. The role is responsible for communication coordination for changes across environments, stakeholder management, deployment automation, and adopting best practices in the CI/CD process. The ideal candidate will approach tasks with an eye for automation and ensure transparent, issue-free releases while adhering to the ITIL Framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and publish yearly application Release plan
  • Ensure that upstream/downstream application teams are in line with the yearly release plan
  • Ensure internal and external communication about incidents, service requests, and changes impacting the application landscape
  • Coordinate with infrastructure teams for web admin, MQ, and database changes across test and production environments
  • Ensure access controls are in place across all controlled environments
  • Identify and address infrastructure vulnerabilities
  • Ensure risk compliance as per standards and meet all audit requirements
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog and third-party application updates
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Produce Deployment, Run Books, and Implementation Plans
  • Lead and coordinate Go-Live activities including the execution of deployment plans and checklists
  • Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and roadblocks

Requirements:

  • Experience in release and/or project management with a solid understanding of project management principles
  • Experience in handling large-scale multi-tiered application releases
  • Experience in Deployment and Environment Management
  • Experience and exposure in middleware technologies like JBOSS, WebSphere, and WebLogic
  • Experience and exposure in DevOps tools such as Ansible, JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, and Artifactory
  • Experience in a DevOps role (Environment Provisioning, Continuous Deployment, Application Deployment and Orchestration)
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle, especially for Java-based applications
  • Hands-on experience in any major payments processing system
  • Experience using monitoring software and tools and customizing alerts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders during a release and make appropriate decisions in a timely manner
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support extended release windows

Desired skills:

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Python, Java, shell script, groovy, or Scala
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Exposure to UNIX/Linux, Build Management/SCM
  • Exposure to Oracle SQL, IBM MQ, IBM Connect Direct
  • Exposure to load balancing and networking concepts
  • ITIL v3 Intermediate Certification
  • Experience in the BFSI domain

Pay range: $34.18 - $42.18 per hour
