DIRECTOR OF PROGRAM OPERATIONS

CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

Bureau of Behavioral Health

Injury Prevention Division

Number of Positions: 1

(Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)

Starting Salary: $121,668 - $137,532

Under direction, a senior-management position responsible for directing supervisory level staff and managing the programmatic and operational functions of the Injury Prevention Division office within the Behavioral Health Bureau.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Directs the strategic planning and implementation of Injury Prevention division of the Behavioral Health Bureau, which includes the violence prevention and substance use portfolio.

* Oversees 4+ managers responsible for the oversight of injury prevention programs in CDPH Bureau of BH (e.g., setting program goals and priorities, delivery of program services, and monitoring of

* delegate agencies)

* Monitors the performance and ongoing development/training of BH Injury Prevention staff, including providing direct 1 on 1 supervision, performance evaluation, and professional development opportunities.

* Develops the Injury Prevention work objectives, quality standards and key performance indicators, working with program supervisors to monitor productivity and adhere to established standards

* Directs the development and management of 75+ delegate agency contracts, budgets, grants and

administrative functions, including RFP publication, review, and evaluation, selection of partners, initiation of contracts, drafting scopes of service, and monitoring program implementation, data submission, public health outcomes

* Serves as a liaison between CDPH and other City departments, outside agencies and the general public

Additional duties may be required for this position

Location: 1920 S. Western Ave

Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a directly related field, PLUS seven (7) years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs, of which five (5) years is in a management/supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher in the Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a directly related field, PLUS six (6) years of experience in the planning, implementation or administration of social service, public health or public service programs, of which five (5) years is in a management/supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.

This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position based on the oral parts of the interview will be selected.
