SUMMARY:

The Director Leave Management provides systemwide leadership and strategic oversight of all leave of absence and workplace accommodation programs.

This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within multiple states, contractual compliance within various labor contracts, operational consistency, and a positive employee experience.

The Director serves as a subject matter expert, leads the Leave of Absence team, manages external vendor relationships, and partners crossfunctionally to align leave administration with organizational, compliance, and workforce objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide strategic and operational leadership for all Leave of Absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, statespecific leave, and personal leave.

Lead, develop, and oversee the Leave of Absence team, establishing clear accountability, scalable operations, and consistent service standards.

Leverage analytics and reporting to monitor trends, assess program effectiveness, and inform strategic workforce and compliance decisions

Drive operational excellence through optimized workflows, performance metrics, continuous process improvement and data driven decision making.

Lead the case management strategy to deliver a seamless high-quality experience for employees and managers.

Lead internal communications and education efforts related to leave of absence programs, ensuring employees, managers, and other internal stakeholders have clear, timely, and consistent information.

Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, internal policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

Manage vender relationships, vendor performance, ensuring service quality, contractual compliance, and continuous improvement.

Advise managers and HR partners on compliance and best practices related to leave andaccommodations.

Develop and deliver training sessions for clinical staff and leaders on LOA policies, procedures, documentation requirements, and compliance standards. Work closely with Legal on high-risk or complex leave cases.

Partner crossfunctionally with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of leave administration, pay, benefits, and returntowork processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Nursing, Social Work, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in leave management, case management, benefits administration, employee relations, or a closely related HR discipline.
2+ years demonstrated experience leading teams and influencing outcomes in a complex, multisite or matrixed organization.
Advanced working knowledge of FMLHA, ADA, and statespecific leave laws; experience navigating unionized or healthcare environments preferred.
Proven experience managing thirdparty vendors and servicelevel agreements.
Strong communication, problemsolving, and judgment skills, with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential matters.
Experience using HRIS, leave management, and reporting systems to analyze data and drive decisionmaking.

Demonstrated experience with case management processes and systems.

Pay Range:

$121,596.80-$200,616.00
