Description

Our Newbury Park team is seeking a Sr. Principal Module Design Engineer who will develop the most sophisticated RF front end module through Skyworks technical networks collaborating with expert teams among all Skyworks design centers across the U.S. and Asia. This position has potential to advance from individual contributor to key leader who will own and execute critical portion of our product developments. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone who has ambition to build up professional growth and be part of Skyworks success. The qualified candidate will be a self-driven, committed team player and possess a full understanding of Electromagnetics, BAW filters and RF active/passive circuits.

Responsibilities

You are expected to participate in the product development at early stages by reviewing the customers requests, and working with multidisciplinary teams (design, filter, packaging, program management) to define the optimum architecture for the best possible performance and meeting schedule.


In addition, you will work on:



  • Define the design road map for multiple products
  • Review the customer specs and execute the design plan accordingly
  • Work closely and provide guidance to the EM/MCM design team for ensuring excellent design integration within the module environment
  • Collaborate with the program management team for meeting the schedule milestones
  • Analyze lab data carefully and make decisions regarding the necessary trade offs
  • Support the product engineering team and align on the ATE limits for the highest yield and best preformance
  • Provide regular updates to the customers and internal teams

Required Experience and Skills

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering + 15 years of related experience (MS + 12 years or PhD + 8 years also acceptable)
  • Deep understanding of Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) devices and design, process technology, EM/MCM design, and RF packaging
  • Experienced in EM tools and circuit simulators
  • Solid knowledge in RF filter design and Front End Module architectures
  • Able to work through fast paced environment while supporting multiple products
  • A proven track record as a team player on an engineering team with experience in a multi-cultural, multi-geographic engineering environment

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience in mentoring other engineers
  • Programming skills


The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $143,000 - $286,400 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
