Reinsurance Finance Senior Manager

  • Location: USA -New York

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid

  • The salary range for this role is:$190,00-285,000K

The Opportunity:

The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage financial operations for ceded and assumed reinsurance accounting, ensuring the implementation of strategic vision, collaboration with key stakeholders, leadership of the finance team, and accurate production of financial statements to meet department standards and service level expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee finance operations for all ceded and assumed reinsurance programs, including premium and loss accounting, allocation, and receipt processes.
  • Partner with key business units to ensure proper interpretation, recognition, and reporting of reinsurance agreements.
  • Lead financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation of reinsurance accounts for financial statement preparation.
  • Direct assumption, settlement, and resolution of variances in the reinsurance book of business.
  • Establish and maintain processes and controls for collateral used to secure reinsurance exposures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory and company requirements, developing action plans for deficiencies.
  • Lead coordination of audits and internal control reviews by auditors, responding effectively to findings.
  • Manage budgeted resources by forecasting needs, and costs, and accurately accounting for expenses.

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • Significant relevant experience.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Extensive experience in ceded reinsurance.
  • Experience in managing or leading teams.
  • Experience with increasing levels of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
