Job Description




As a Security Officer - Access Control in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and communications location, where you will monitor entry points, manage badge access, and help support daily site operations. In this access control role, you will remain visible, provide outstanding customer service, and communicate clearly with employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, badge verification, and other security-related policies.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity at assigned access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and emergency response guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs, contractor check-in records, and other required documentation related to access control activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
