Pay: $40.79/hr. plus benefits covered


Hours: Monday to Friday - 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

Job Description


Performs the carpentry duties necessary to install, maintain, repair, replace building walls using wood or metal studding, suspended ceilings and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors, floors, stairs, casings, and trim made of wood, and various other materials using hand tools and power tools.


Work may involve but not limited to the following:



  • Study specifications in blueprints, drawings, models, building plans or verbal instructions to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required;
  • Responsible for ordering materials promptly and accurately, check all deliveries for accuracy and quantity;
  • Using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, ladders, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments;
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level;
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power tools;
  • Maintain written and electronic records, documents actions and present written progress reports;
  • Perform minor plumbing, painting, welding and/or concrete mixing work may be necessary.
  • Hang and finish wall coverings including drywall, paneling, or other specified materials;
  • Remove and install flooring materials such as carpet, VCT, ceramic tile or other specified materials;
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
  • Knowledge of construction trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and safety.
  • Perform snow removal as needed, plow experience a plus.
  • Experience with rekeying and master key systems preferred; training provided for the right candidate.
  • Must be able to climb ladders (step, extension, straight, etc.) up to 40 ft;
  • Must be able to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 20 ft if required;
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel as needed.
  • General maintenance, snow removal and other duties assigned.
  • Electrical experience or license would be valuable.


Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as, but not limited to, gloves, harnesses, respirators, hardhats, other protective clothing- if required. Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Five years of experience or equivalent performing carpentry work;
  • Possess a valid driver's license;
  • Ability to perform tasks independently on all areas and aspects of construction project;
  • Ability to climb ladders for heights of up to 40 feet, and crawl for distances of 50 feet;
  • Ability to work with tools, lumber metal studding and building materials;
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and the customer;
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics sufficient to calculate metric conversions and to calculate materials needed for jobs;
  • Able to do layout, framing, finishing of typical projects including room additions, remodeling and renovations;
  • Must be able to perform work and/or duties as directed in areas of maintenance other than carpentry
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and subsequent random drug screening


In general, the work of the carpenter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
