Job Description

Pay: $60,000 annually

We are looking for an Operations Turn Leader at our Gary, IN location. The is a leadership role responsible for managing and coordinating operational activities during an assigned shift. This position ensures safe, compliant, and efficient operations while providing hands-on leadership to hourly crews. The Ops Turn Leader serves as the primary point of contact during the shift and supports management through production oversight, employee engagement, and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and oversee shift operations to ensure safety, productivity, and quality standards are met

* Supervise and coordinate hourly employees during assigned shifts

* Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements; lead safety discussions and address unsafe behaviors immediately

* Assign daily work activities, manage job rotations, and ensure adequate coverage throughout the shift

* Monitor production flow and operational performance, addressing issues in real time

* Communicate staffing concerns, production issues, and incidents to the Operations Supervisor or Manager

* Complete shift reports, production logs, and other required documentation using company systems

* Utilize computer systems for reporting, communications, scheduling, and tracking operational data

* Assist with training new employees and reinforcing operational and safety expectations

* Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas

* Serve as a role model for professionalism, accountability, and teamwork

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED required

* Prior experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or steel mill environment preferred

* Previous lead, supervisory, or crew leadership experience preferred

* Computer skills required, including the ability to use reporting systems, email, and basic software applications

* Strong communication and organizational skills

* Ability to make decisions and problem-solve in a fast-paced, shift-based environment
