Position: Site Reliability Engineer III Location: Chicago, IL (will consider CST remote candidates) Duration: 12 Months, with potential for extension Note: The candidate must be working from 6 am Chicago Central time, giving a strong overlap with UK and India. Summary: The main function of a Site Reliability Engineer is to streamline IT infrastructure management through the use of code, software products, and automation. The role helps minimize manual effort as much as possible and drives site reliability so that the business can run a host of new applications and services without straining the infrastructure. Job Responsibilities: Applies software engineering practices to IT operations tasks to maintain a scalable and reliable production environment for running software services, and creates a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration topics. Writing and developing code to automate processes, such as analyzing logs, testing production environments, and responding to any issues, so this engineer will be an expert in writing code. Skills: Knowledge of software development and coding languages: Python, GoLang, Java, .NET, and Node.js. Understanding data processing proficiency in configuration design IT Infrastructure and monitoring management systems Experience with tools like ELK and Grafana is preferred. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a relevant field. Proven background working in a technical, IT-related position. 3-5+ years of experience Additional details from the Hiring Manager Overview We work in Trade Compliance and the innovation space. It's a green field project, team divided into 2 squads. The role and the key responsibilities of the role:
The top 3 must-have skills: 1. Very strong SRE/DevOps skills and experience to be a self-starter, partner with the other SREs in the team, and support DEV squads as required 2. Strong with cloud infrastructure(IAC with Terraform) experience, blue-green deployments, handling NFRs such as scaling(horizontal, vertical), security postures/resiliency 3. Through understanding of Azure cloud, supporting deployments of Java and Python-based micro-services, different databases, experience with Azure Container app(ACA), along with K8/AKS is desired 4. Experience with messaging systems, web-hooks, Azure functions 5. Experience handling Azure OpenAI deployments is highly valued 6. Research, learn, and apply mindset, ability to multitask The essential years of experience and/or education (or certification) requirements: * 3-5years, if more than that's fine, Bachelor's degree required. * Strong hands-on experience with Azure, GitHub pipelines. * Good communication to describe problems and solutions * Azure certification is valued; any MLOps, LLMOps experience is highly valued | |
