It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar. Position Overview The Accounting Manager is responsible for performing all assigned financial duties relating to the property, such as month-end closing, general ledger and bank account reconciliation, forecasting, creating and monitoring internal control procedures, and special reports. What You'll Do
- Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
- Manage daily accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Audit, Payroll, and General Ledger activity
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements, balance sheets, and supporting reports
- Analyze and post financial activity into the income journal and ensure proper classification of transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Establish and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard hotel assets and ensure compliance with company standards
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheets, and tax-related accounts, addressing discrepancies as needed
- Prepare and submit monthly tax filings and resolve any related issues
- Review daily financial activity for accuracy and make corrections when necessary
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, hotel procedures, and regulatory requirements
Financial Analysis & Administrative Support
- Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning initiatives
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership review
- Maintain aging reports, house accounts, and financial tracking systems
- Process billing, deposits, and receipts for group and event business
- Reconcile brand-related transactions including gift cards, loyalty programs, and reimbursements
Guest & Vendor Support
- Handle guest billing inquiries and resolve disputes with professionalism and accuracy
- Review and approve invoices, ensuring proper documentation and coding
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments regarding financial transactions and credit activity
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Support, guide, and provide direction to the accounting team to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Partner with department leaders to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes
- Assist with special accounting projects and operational initiatives as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain organized records and files in compliance with audit standards
- Provide general hotel information to guests when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall financial operations
What You'll Bring Education & Experience
- College degree or equivalent education required
- 2-3 years of accounting or finance experience required
- Prior hospitality accounting experience required
Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with complex financial data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision-making ability
- Effective communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive or challenging situations professionally
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and support credit and financial operations
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability
