The Associated Pressisseekingahighly detail-oriented and strategicMedia Plannertojoin AP'sB2C effort, building on AP's reputation, reach and high-quality content to bring unique advertising opportunities direct to the market. This position will report to theSenior Media Planner.

TheMedia Plannerworksclosely with theSenior Media Planner,salesteam, integrated marketingteamandthe rest of therevenue operationsteam todevelop both custom and standard proposals and media plans, and toassistinbuilding andmaintainingrelationships withadvertisers.

The ideal candidate hasknowledge of digital advertising campaign planning andmanagement, including sponsorships, display, video, native solutions, brandedcontentand social media. This roleassistswiththe development of strategies,pricingand media plans to support our sales team. The position plays an integral role in ensuring that every proposal is crafted thoughtfully and tailored to achieve the brand'sobjectives.To be considered, you must be motivated, independent, and able to manage multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do:



  • Assistwith creatingmedia plans and proposals, both proactively and in response to client requests and RFPs.





  • Work with Senior Media Planner to provide recommendations using all relevant ad formats and placements (display, video, branded content, social media, high impact and native advertising across desktop, mobile web, in-app and newsletter).





  • Receive, understand, and react to inquiries and RFPs from brandsand agencies, building advertising solutions thatmeet or exceedtheir campaign goals.





  • Participate in brainstorms acrossinternal and external teams and compile ideas intoclient-facing proposals.





  • Work withthesales andad/revenueoperations teams toencourage renewals andidentifyareas for account growth.





  • DevelopadvancedproficiencyinAP's ad stack,formats,targeting,monetizationcapabilitiesand best practices,and use this knowledgetoaddress client inquiries and inform planning.





  • SupportSenior Media Planner inevaluatinginventory, revenue,performanceand other data to create plans and pricing thatachieve theplannedKPI goals andbalancedprofit margins.





  • Utilize data platformstoforecast targeted inventory, and to build andutilizesegments to reachadvertisers' target audiences.Share insights and learning with integrated marketing and salesteams.





  • Participate in calls with clients to communicatecampaign components,expectationsand timelines.




Who you are:



  • 1-2+ yearsin media planning/sales planning rolesat a publisher or agency.





  • Experiencecreatingadpackagesacross direct,programmaticguaranteed,preferredand private auction deals.





  • Experience working across ad formats including display, video, branded content, high impact and native advertising across desktop, mobile web, app and email newsletter.





  • Possesses the ability to offer creative solutions to grow revenue and providethe optimalclient experience.





  • Comfortwith Excel and analyzing data sets to be able to provide recommendations back to either clients directly or various internal teams(pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, charts, etc.).





  • Experienceusing a DMP/CDP to organize, analyze andutilizeaudience segments for planning purposes and campaign targetingis preferred.





  • ExperienceutilizingGoogle Ad Manager and Google Analyticsor Lookerto run reports, forecast inventory and inform the creation of media plans.





  • Proficiencyin Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Word isrequired.





  • Knowledge of the programmatic landscape, as well as PMP and programmatic guaranteeddealsis preferred.





  • Excellent interpersonal skills for communication across multiple departments and levels of management, as well as with clients and external contacts.





  • Must be highly motivated,independentand detailoriented.





  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and within deadlines.





  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent.





  • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language.





  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.



Location:

This position follows a hybrid work model based in AP's New York headquarters. AP employees are onsite three days a week, Tuesday,Wednesdayand Thursday.

Theanticipatedsalary range for this position is $68,000-$75,000, contingent on experience and other job-related factors. Employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan and an employer-sponsored health insurance plan, as outlined in the official plan documents. Additionally, they are eligible for paid time off and holidays per AP policy.
