Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator III, Marketing and Outreach collaborates with the LSC marketing team at System Office to develop a marketing plan for the LSC-University Centers and coordinates the implementation of the marketing plan. The responsibilities of the position include multiple websites, social media presence, designing of marketing materials (online and printed), and coordinating outreach and public relations events. Attendance at some events is required during heavy orientation and graduation times. Serves as the point of contact for students inquiring about program information and university partners needing outreach support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develops and implements integrated marketing strategy for LSC-University Center
  2. Researches and applies new trends to enhance the user experience and increase engagement on all communication platforms
  3. Serve as project coordinator for major marketing events and initiatives through the University Centers
  4. Supports increased offerings of university partner programs through the University Centers as well as collaborates with partners to improve student participation
  5. Coordinate and maintain high inventory flow of marketing and publication materials and promotional items
  6. Creates templates, navigation structures and other graphic elements
  7. Coordinates messaging and visual display of all electronic advertising via the on-campus plasma screen messaging system
  8. Prepares illustrations for use in publications, presentations, and the Web by using various graphic design software
  9. Designs publications and page layouts according to aesthetic and branding standards, applies knowledge of layout and computer software
  10. Develops and coordinates communication plan for the outreach and recruitment of students; includes student tracking, email communication, social media, etc.
  11. Collaborate with college staff and administrators on outreach, recruitment, admissions, and enrollment opportunities, including attendance at related events. Also assists in hosting University Center events
  12. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse clientele in a team environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of digital photography and graphic design skill set
  • Knowledge of multiple web tools such as HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, Photoshop, Illustrator Adobe software programs and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of web and marketing analytic tools
  • Strong writing, editing, project management, and attention to accuracy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a student-centered, team-oriented environment

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in public relations, marketing, communications
  • Experience with web and marketing analytics tools
  • Experience with website development and mobile usability and responsiveness
  • Experience in creating email engagement and social media content
  • Experience working in higher education
Salary

Hiring salary range is: $48,152 - $55,375

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer. The information outlined below will provide the Office of Human Resources everything needed to determine an accurate starting salary.
