The EH&S and Sustainability Intern will support the EH&S team in implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs. The intern will also assist in the development and execution of sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of our operations. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in EH&S and sustainability practices within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

Health & Safety Support:

  • Assist in conducting safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.

  • Support the development and implementation of health and safety training programs.

  • Participate in incident investigations and help identify root causes and corrective actions.

  • Maintain and update EH&S documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), training records, and inspection reports.

Environmental Compliance:

  • Help monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of environmental data (e.g., air, water, waste) to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Support the preparation and submission of environmental reports to regulatory agencies.

Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability projects focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource conservation.

  • Assist in the creation of sustainability reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Help organize and participate in sustainability events and awareness campaigns.

  • Conduct research on best practices in sustainability and recommend strategies for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement EH&S and sustainability improvements.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and advancements in EH&S and sustainability practices.

  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project status and key initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Sustainability, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in EH&S and sustainability practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Prior experience or coursework in EH&S or sustainability is a plus.
