Job Summary

As a Senior Financial Analyst, this role serves as the finance partner to clinical and operational leaders, providing financial, utilization, and performance analysis to support informed decisionmaking across clinical operations. The position is responsible for transforming complex financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support strategic, operational, and financial objectives.

The Senior Financial Analyst conducts advanced analysis of trends, variances, and drivers impacting clinical performance, with a strong focus on cost management, resource utilization, and operational efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare finance and clinical workflows, enabling the analyst to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.

Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior Financial Analyst collaborates closely with clinical leaders, operational teams, and finance partners to evaluate performance, support business planning, and develop financially sound recommendations aligned with organizational goals. The role also plays a key part in communicating complex financial concepts in a clear, actionable manner to leaders at all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions
  • Performs advanced statistical, cost, utilization, and financial variance analyses to assess clinical and operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provides financial decision support to clinical and operational leaders, including analysis related to productivity, staffing, cost management, and operational initiatives.
  • Partners with assigned clinical areas as a trusted finance advisor, evaluating financial implications of operational decisions and offering datadriven recommendations.
  • Supports budgeting, forecasting, and initiative planning by analyzing trends, risks, and key performance drivers impacting clinical operations.
  • Develops clear, accurate financial analyses, reports, and presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights for leaders at all levels.
  • Applies sound judgment and advanced analytical skills to resolve complex or nonstandard financial and operational issues.
  • Ensures financial and utilization data accuracy and consistency through validation, reconciliation, and variance explanation.
  • Contributes to crossfunctional initiatives and, as appropriate, supports knowledge sharing or mentoring within the analyst team.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance, business administration, economics, statistics or related field

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Business or finance
  • 3 years of relevant experience Finance, accounting or related work Required
  • Formal or informal leadership experience
  • LIC-Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - STATE_MI State of Michigan
