Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Receiving Attendant.

In this role, the successful candidate performs all required duties related to Receiving Department and Stat Stores Department such as receiving, storing, picking, scanning and marking boxes, replenishment, issuing, distributing, and shipping all materials, supplies and equipment that are generated by and for NYULOH.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Other Duties as Assigned.
  • RECEIVES INCOMING MATERIALS, SUPPLIES, AND EQUIPMENT - Checks to make certain the shipment is for the Medical Center. Inspects shipment for damages; notifies supervisor of any problems. Counts the number of packages/cartons accurately. Signs the shippers bill of lading. Checks materials for special handling instructions.
  • CHECK-IN - Compares materials received in packing slip with copy of purchases order or shipping notice as shown on computer screen, and performs exact count. Informs supervisor of any shipping notice discrepancies. Places received materials in designated area in an orderly manner and on a first in first out basis.
  • DELIVERY OF MATERIALS - Delivers materials to various areas throughout the Medical Center. Carefully loads materials on delivery trucks. Goes to destination via the least total time route. Delivers materials to the correct destination and secures signature. Returns to department via quickest route. Turns in complete records to supervisor. Awaits new delivery assignment.
  • INVENTORY - Performs Periodic inventories for inventory adjustments. Assists in taking periodic physical inventories according to department procedures.
  • SHIPPING OF MATERIALS - Prepares materials for shipping. Pick up materials from Medical Center departments based on supervisors instructions. Prepares all shipping documents according to type of material being shipped. Arranges for carrier pick-up based on departmental procedures. Secures signature as proof of pick-up. Files and maintains records, logs, and receipts accurately.
  • Attendance and Additional Performance Standards - Demonstrates reliability by maintaining a good attendance/punctuality record. Adheres to departmental guidelines regarding use of and proper notification in connection with time off. Maintains a professional appearance; wears identification badge at all times while at the Medical Center.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Good communication skills Must be able to read and write English.Lift minimum of 50lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of materials handling and shipping is helpful.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $50,639.54 - $54,399.52 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
