Position Summary
The candidate is responsible for continuous improvement and daily problem solving within production through close collaboration between operations leadership and associated technical resources. This position will be assigned to the chemical processing and metal preparation area in support of the HCL and Silicone value streams. The role is focused on support and technical assistance in achieving our plant goals within the WIN Strategy. This position requires a self-motivated and organized individual with strong problem solving and communication skills working with others. |
Responsibilities
- Promoting a Safety-First workplace, encouraging the identification and closure of opportunities for safety improvements.
- The candidate's primary responsibility is to continually improve the manufacturing process for responsible areas, with a primary focus on product quality and cost. This includes the development of new methods and practices for manufacturing and tooling concepts.
- The candidate is directly responsible for all manufacturing documentation, including manufacturing instructions and process equipment specifications.
- The incumbent is directly responsible for manufacturing documentation control and flow-down from Customer and Regulatory Agencies for all applicable specifications.
- This role will be embedded within and work closely with Sustaining Engineering to drive cost improvement actions, enhance designs for manufacturability and ensure customer expectations are continually met.
- The candidate is expected to provide leadership with Root Cause and Corrective Actions of manufacturing stops and other associated quality issues to drive to a zero defects quality issue.
Drive and embrace collaboration and partnership with Operations, Quality, and Product Development teams to maintain a continuous improvement (Lean) mindset to achieve Zero Defects through product and process robustness.

Qualifications
Required
Must be capable of communicating ideas and instructions with Parker-Lord internal teams and external customers & suppliers. The position also requires a solid "hands-on" mechanical background with experience and understanding of fundamental manufacturing methods. Demonstrated problem solving and leadership skills. Ability to effectively interact and contribute in a team environment. The candidate is expected to maintain focus on engaged people, customer experience, profitable growth, and financial performance, through successful implementation of The Win Strategy within their goals and objectives. Ability to complete the job following all policies or procedures regarding safety, waste handling, and environmental regulations without direct threat or significant risk to the health, safety or environment. Strong technical and manufacturing background.
