Under general direction, the Student & Partner Engagement Program Director provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Office of Correctional Medicine's (OCM) Student and Partner Engagement portfolio. This position establishes priorities and performance standards for engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with the mission and strategic objectives of the OCM. The Student & Partner Engagement Program Director directs the design, implementation, and continuous evaluation of comprehensive engagement strategies that strengthen academic partnerships, expand workforce pipeline initiatives, and advance professional development within the field of correctional medicine. This role oversees program infrastructure, resource allocation, operational processes, and supervision of professional staff to ensure effective, sustainable, and measurable outcomes. Serving as a senior representative of OCM, the Student & Partner Engagement Program Director cultivates and maintains strategic relationships with internal leadership and external partners, advancing collaborative initiatives and institutional visibility. The position also represents OCM in administrative and business operations, providing executive-level consultation, strategic analysis, and operational guidance as delegated.

Administration: 100%
- Manages, develops, coordinates and maintains student and partner engagement statewide programming and support staff in the Office of Correctional Medicine; directs the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of engagement initiatives to strengthen academic partnerships and workforce pipeline programs in correctional medicine.
- Establishes and executes a comprehensive strategic plan for Student and Partner Engagement aligned with the mission and long-term objectives of the Office of Correctional Medicine (OCM); defines performance metrics, evaluates program effectiveness, and implements data-driven improvements to ensure measurable outcomes and return on investment.
- Oversees program infrastructure, policies, procedures, and operational workflows to ensure efficiency, compliance, and sustainability; ensures compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements; provides executive-level analysis and recommendations to senior leadership regarding program operations and strategic growth opportunities.
- Recruits, supervises, mentors, and evaluates professional and administrative staff supporting Student and Partner Engagement initiatives; establishes performance expectations and accountability standards; promotes a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation; leads cross-functional teams and facilitates coordination across departments.
- Cultivates and sustains strategic partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, correctional agencies, and community stakeholders; serves as the senior representative for OCM in engagement-related initiatives, meetings, and collaborative forums.
- Directs the development and delivery of educational programming that advances awareness and understanding of correctional medicine; expands experiential learning opportunities, student placements, and professional development initiatives that strengthen workforce recruitment and retention; evaluates emerging trends in correctional healthcare education and implements innovative engagement strategies.
- Develops executive-level communications, reports, and presentations for internal leadership and external stakeholders; represents OCM in administrative and business operations as delegated, providing strategic consultation and operational guidance; promotes institutional visibility and reputation through engagement initiatives and collaborative partnerships.
- Serves as supervisor of direct reports; assigns and reviews work; provides guidance and training; approves time off and reassigns staff to meet operating needs; counsels staff regarding work performance; recommends and imposes discipline; establishes objectives and prepares performance evaluations; determines staffing requirements. Manages and ensures that employees are complying with company policies and industry and best practice standards.

Qualifications

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
- Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, management, education, science or a field related to position.
- Total of three (3) years of proven experience in education, training and/or program development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Skill in analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Skill in scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Ability to adjust actions in relation to others' actions.
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

Condition of Employment
Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, an out-of-state resident who is hired into this position must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of their start date.
