What to Expect
A successful Onboarding Trainer will be approachable, organized, internally motivated, and trustworthy. Our ideal candidate embodies the Tesla culture and the ability to approach training talented individuals with an aggressive work ethic. The Onboarding Trainer will work alongside the onboarding program owner to deliver effective and efficient training to new hires in Cell Manufacturing at Gigafactory Texas. You will partner with the Technical Training team, the Shop Training team, and manufacturing teams to build and deliver world class trainings that set up new hire classes with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their new role at Tesla.
What You'll Do
- Deliver instructor-led training content to new hires during onboarding
- Utilize Tesla's in-house learning management system to capture attendance records
- Continuously improve training content and processes to increase value to our customers
- Deliver safety and quality classroom trainings
- Document training records and processes
- Assist the Shop Training team perform compliance duties
- Manage communications between training team and manufacturing teams to ensure class attendees know when and where sessions are hosted
What You'll Bring
- Training Experience: Experience training groups of new hires (20+) in a professional capacity with instructor-led training background; preferred experience training technical content such as maintenance, quality, engineering, and leadership
- Communication and Language Proficiency: Command of English language (written and verbal); exceptional ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manufacturing personnel
- Teaching Style and Collaboration: Innovative, flexible, and positive teaching approach combined with open collaborative style; ability to work both autonomously and in team environments with minimal supervision, while understanding diverse student backgrounds
- Organization and Production Environment Management: Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize in highly dynamic production environments; preferred experience working in manufacturing/industrial environments
- Technical Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Microsoft suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook), learning management systems navigation and use, and project management software (Jira, Microsoft Project)
- Preferred Educational and Design Credentials: Degree or certificate in Education, instructional design, or related field; experience with instructional design, learning management system administration/engineering, and graphic design
- Preferred Industrial and Technical Certifications: Powered Industrial Vehicle certifications such as sit-down forklift, stand-up forklift, ride-on/walk-behind electric pallet jacks, and other relevant certifications
