The CNS Office of Faculty Affairs provides oversight on faculty affairs in collaboration with the departments, the Dean, and the Provost's Office in order to support faculty career paths, professional development, and well-being.

Purpose

The Faculty Affairs (FA) Coordinator will be a core member of the CNS Dean's Office of Faculty Affairs, providing comprehensive support on a wide range of matters involving CNS faculty. In this role, the coordinator will support outstanding faculty who drive excellence in research, teaching, mentoring, and service, while serving as a liaison with key stakeholders, including department leadership, the Dean, and the Provost's Office.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Dean, the Provost's Office, the central development office, and departments for endowment appointments for faculty holders and fellows.

  • Lead in reviewing faculty personnel documents for the College such as leave requests, course release requests, modified service requests, modified instructional duties, and external appointment requests.

  • Serve as Academic HR Executive in Workday for college-wide faculty appointments. Lead in reviewing faculty one-time and ongoing payments, data changes, separations, and mass transactions.

  • Manages faculty separations such as retirements, phased retirement, and resignations. Reviews emeritus requests from departments and collaborates with the Dean and the Provost's Office to finalize requests.

  • Collaborate with the Dean and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs to manage comprehensive periodic reviews for Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and Directors.

  • Assist with events, major meetings, faculty development and mentoring programs, and related analyses as needed

  • Produce reports or provide data, as requested or required for college leadership members or departments, including annual and periodic reports and reviews. Maintain an accurate and current filing system for all faculty documentation on Microsoft Sharepoint. Manage the Office of Faculty Affairs website, providing timely updates and ensuring information is compliant with university policy. Maintain office inventory and order supplies as needed.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience in an administrative support function. Ability to manage a high volume of work assignments under dynamic circumstances while maintaining accuracy, and discretion in dealing with sensitive issues. Demonstrated effective communication skills, as well as a customer-focused approach to problem-solving.

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of UT Austin faculty affairs policies and procedures.

Salary Range

$55,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
