Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing testing strategy using manual/automation methods by applying appropriate technologies and best practices. To do this, the person will have the opportunity to work on writing manual scripts based on detailed requirements and system specifications. The person will be responsible for performing in-Sprint & E2E Testing and identify/perform the appropriate test. This role will also require strong collaboration with other development teams, architects and/or business analysts to ensure quality alignment. The successful candidate must be driven to learn and excited by applying new methodologies & technologies in support of a growing, dynamic multinational business.



Responsibilities

    Comprehend functional requirements to drive the test strategy & create test scenarios, test cases, test data, test execution results, bug logging
  • Perform functional testing, regression testing on company applications across multiple operating systems, business applications, browsers, desktop, etc.
  • Document and communicate test results to Project Managers, Developers, Business Analysts
  • Providing testing, quality assurance, automation, and written documentation in various SDLC environments (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Identify, isolate, regress and communicate issues/defects with detailed reproduction steps
  • Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience
  • Working on fast-paced projects
  • Perform black box testing


Qualifications

  • BS Degree and 4+ years of Software Test Engineering experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with some or all phases of testing: Functional, Regression, Integration Testing, E2E Testing
  • At least 3 years of experience in writing Test plans, Test scenarios, Test cases, test execution and defect logging after interpretation of test results.
  • Experience in any Test management tool like ALM, QTest, Jira (Azure DevOps is a bonus)
  • At least 1 year of experience working in agile methodology
  • Experience in preparing effective bug reports using defect tracking system and tracking them to closure.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, ability to multi-task effectively and manage priorities.
  • Ability to understand API - JSON and XML formats with experience using API testing tools like Postman, Swagger or SoapUI.
  • Knowledge of Test Automation tools for Web app (Selenium, TestNG, Cypress, or similar frameworks) is a plus
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines
  • Knowledge of BDD, TDD or ATDD design techniques.
  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • Knowledge of different EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Transactions and Testing EDI Transactions end-to-end flow between organizations and internal systems to ensure smooth data exchange
  • Demonstrated flexibility, with the ability to work with different business areas and new technologies as the team evolves and matures.
  • Ability to communicate with project team members, and read and understand business requirements and technical specifications to formulate a testing strategy.
  • Complex thinking, analysis, and decision making skills.
  • Must be well organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, systems thinking, problem solving/debugging skills
