Location: This is an onsite internship based at our headquarters in Lisle, IL.

Our Team

Molex is growing in the Optical Solutions Business Unit and is seeking a Business Intelligence Intern to join our team this summer within the Fiber Optic Connectivity Group. You will have the opportunity to learn and support other teams within our suite of optical connectivity components/connectors. This role will work cross-functionally with other departments, including Engineering, Quality, and Product Management.

What You Will Do

  • Establish and enhance reporting, analytics, and KPI capabilities that support business priorities and decision-making
  • Partner with stakeholders to define reporting needs, success criteria, metric definitions, and data requirements
  • Translate business questions into analytical approaches and develop clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI or similar tools) to be feature rich with an intuitive user experience
  • Support the development of a single source of truth by aligning metric definitions, improving data consistency, and documenting business logic
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis to resolve data quality issues and prevent recurrence
  • Collaborate with innovation partners to design and deliver AI solutions and advanced modeling
  • Create repeatable processes (refresh schedules, distribution, documentation, and change control) to reduce manual effort
  • Proactively identify automation opportunities for improved efficiency, faster process times, and error proofing
  • Communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences; tailor storytelling to stakeholder needs
  • Build and maintain documentation (data definitions, report specs, data lineage, and user guides) to enable self-service and continuity

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering, business, or related technical degree program
  • Eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2027.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with PowerBI, Power Automate, and/or Snowflake
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline concepts (even if not hands-on engineering)
  • Experience with SAP and/or enterprise operational/financial data sources
  • Experience with CoPilot Studio Agents

For this role, we anticipate paying $27/hr.
