Responsibilities

Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a real impact? Newport Academy is on the lookout for a Facilities and Maintenance Technician to join our awesome team! If you're all about keeping things running smoothly and ensuring a safe space for everyone, we want to hear from you!

Essential Duties:

Stay Proactive: Keep a close watch on all facility systems and utilities, ensuring everything is running smoothly. You'll be the go-to person for identifying maintenance needs and addressing them promptly.

Safety First: Conduct regular checks on water temperatures and sprinkler system pressures to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Your vigilance will help maintain a safe environment for everyone.

Maintenance Maestro: Jump in to assist with general facility maintenance and repairs whenever needed. Whether it's carpentry, plumbing, or painting, your skills will keep our facilities in top shape!

Schedule Like a Pro: Coordinate and manage preventative maintenance appointments for tasks that require outside expertise, ensuring minimal disruption to our programs and staff.

Document with Precision: Conduct periodic facility walk-throughs and document necessary repairs. Your attention to detail will help us maintain our high standards.

Team Player: Maintain strong professional relationships with contractors and vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration for all maintenance projects.

Emergency Ready: Conduct quarterly and yearly testing of fire alarms and sprinkler systems. Your preparedness will help keep our facilities safe and compliant.

Prioritize Wisely: Assess and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, ensuring that critical repairs are addressed promptly.

Stay Updated: Keep your knowledge current on all facility maintenance best practices and compliance requirements to excel in your role at Newport Academy.

Flexibility is Key: Be ready to adapt and take on additional tasks as needed to support our mission and the needs of the facility.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two plus years' experience in facilities maintenance

Pay Range for this position $23.00 to $31.25 per hour based on education and experience
