Responsibilities
Key Performance Responsibilities:
- The Clinical Director is a vital partner to the Executive Director, ensuring continuous alignment, trust and authentic communication across the program.
- Upholds the integrity of the program and fidelity to the clinical model, by taking a higher-level objective assessment of the needs of the region.
- Facilitates clinical supervision, mentoring and training of Clinical Operations Manager (COM) and clinical teams.
- Ensures a structure in place to consistently audit clinical documentation to ensure compliance with state licensing, Joint Commission, and payer regulations.
- Supports the resilience in the programs with the core model.
- Ensures team cohesion and unity of leadership at the cohort level.
- Supports with complex cases and reliable communication with families.
- Provides vital insight into COM development and clinical program functioning to Executive Director.
- Audits medical charts monthly to ensure clinical documentation meets quality and submission standards, with deficiencies addressed with clinician and additional training provided if needed.
- Tasked with onsite admission flow including managing census and connecting with families as needed in advance of arrival to build trust, show compassion and provide program continuity.
- Focuses on client and family experience and successful outcomes through consistent communication and attention to family needs.
- Coordinates with treatment team to improve client engagement and parental involvement, as needed, with ACA/AMA and administrative discharges.
- Drives quality assurance efforts and quality improvement initiatives using measurement-based approaches to outcomes.
- Adheres to policies and procedures in compliance with local licensing regulators, Joint Commission, and payers.
- Contact with professionals and parents, responding to requests in a timely manner.
- Facilitates efficient intra and inter-departmental communication.
- Ensures 20-hours of direct client care documented weekly.
- Reviews clinical and staff communication and reporting for treatment implications.
- Provides quality assurance and improvement to ensure the Newport Healthcare clinical model is being upheld and maintains clinical competencies.
- May directly supervise clinicians and/or provide clinical supervision to Associate Therapists.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities with minimal supervision and in accordance with licensing and regulatory standards.
- Represents the highest clinical leadership position at the assigned program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, License Requirements:

- Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required.
- Licensed in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work required.
- Two years or more of relevant clinical experience with adolescents, young adults, and families, with mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disordered populations.
- Minimum of one-year experience in a residential setting.
- Minimum of one-year supervisor experience.
- Current CPR certification or obtain within first 30 days of employment required.
- Must meet state specific age and pre-employment requirements such as background checks and drug screening.
Compensation for this role ranges from $100,000-$129,000 annually depending on education and experience. We are committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation. An individual's pay rate within the posted range is determined by several factors, including skills, experience, education, and market conditions. Additionally, we consider internal equity to ensure fairness within our organization.
