What to Expect
The Workplace Operations Supervisor works as a liaison between site leaders, Tesla employees, and management with regards to space planning, office moves, manufacturing space operations, daily facilities and workplace operations, event coordination, and other logistical needs. This role will report to the Workplace Operations Manager to help supervise our lean but mighty Workplace team, manage third party relationships, partner with key stakeholders, manage tenant improvement projects, assist with data analysis for reporting, and further our mission for a more sustainable future through innovation.
What You'll Do
- Supervise the Workplace team, third-party vendors, and site programs to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and world-class customer service
- Lead by example, use creative problem solving, drive improvements, and represent Workplace's mission to always consistently provide operational excellence and customer service
- Align with cross-functional partners (Facilities, Security, Transportation, Janitorial, EHS, Culinary, HR, Design, Construction, Logistics, Real Estate, Finance) to review projects, develop budgets, procure materials, obtain approvals, issue/manage purchase orders, handle change management, and deliver results
- Define project scope for Workplace initiatives, develop logistical plans, establish budgets, and implement tracking procedures to ensure completion and success
- Provide supervision and support for lab space operations, programming, moves, equipment relocations, build-outs, space planning, and overall site functionality
- Act as self-starter to receive objectives, create execution roadmaps using industry best practices, propose plans to management for approval, and execute to meet goals
- Manage tenant improvement projects, office moves, and logistical needs while collaborating on data analysis for reporting and strategic decision-making
What You'll Bring
- Degree or equivalent experience in facilities management or related field in a high-growth corporate setting preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in workplace, corporate facilities, or high-growth operational environments
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading and supervising teams of people
- Minimum 1 year of experience managing lab spaces, tenant improvement projects, and office moves
- Ability to organize, lead teams, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities and demands
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technological tools (Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, or drafting/layout experience preferred)
- Proven capability to support multiple sites/territories with required local travel, while demonstrating self-starter initiative, policy adherence, and roadmap execution
