Summary: Under the supervision of a pharmacist, fills medication orders, pre-packages, compounds pharmaceuticals, refills stock supplies, delivers medication and performs various clerical duties as required

Responsibilities:
- Functions as Lead Technician in assigned area of work
- Actively participates in the Quality Process, including improvement initiatives
- Actively participates in policy, procedure and standard work development
- Supports leadership to drive Employee and Customer Engagement
- Or, Primary responsibility is to prepare sterile hazardous (ie Oncology)
- Or, Operates in lead administrative technician position within the department
- Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled substances.
- Performs other functions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED plus specialized, short-term training in the areas of pharmacy law, practices standards, terminology, pharmacy math, drug preparation, dosage forms and trade/generic names.
- Pharmacy Technician National Certification through exam or transfer required.
- Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. pharmacy technician license required.
- At least two years-experience in pharmacy
- Completion of Crucial Conversations, Appreciative Coaching and Influencer training for Lead Technicians and Lead Administrative Technician
- Successful completion of PHS Sterile Products Compounding Competency and Hazardous Medication Training for all employees preparing sterile, hazardous medications.
