Position Overview

The Production Designer plays a key role in developing high-impact visual materials that support corporate presentations, executive education programs, marketing initiatives, and internal resources. This position is responsible for translating complex ideas into compelling, sophisticated designs that clearly communicate content, messaging, brand identity, and strategic intent.

This role requires a creative and detail-oriented designer with strong visual storytelling skills and a refined sense of layout. The Production Designer creates engaging materials for diverse audiences - from boards of directors and shareholder workshops to large-scale executive conferences. The ideal candidate understands how audiences absorb and retain visual information and can produce polished, modern visuals across both digital and print formats.

The Production Designer stays current with emerging tools and technologies, identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency and enhance design quality.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design and produce executive-level presentations, education materials, marketing assets, and internal tools.
  • Conceptualize and execute visually engaging graphics that align with brand standards and strategic messaging.
  • Support multiple presenters and stakeholders across the firm, adapting to varied presentation styles and audience needs.
  • Develop and upgrade graphics for presentations, social media, research publications, and other client-facing materials.
  • Provide technical and conceptual design solutions tailored to audience, venue, and program format.
  • Ensure clarity, readability, and visual cohesion when communicating complex ideas.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, meeting tight and shifting deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Maintain and organize firm design assets and internal production resources.
  • Stay informed on emerging design technologies and production techniques to enhance workflow and output quality.


Collaboration & Work Environment



  • Partner with colleagues across the firm, including partners, faculty, administrators, and marketing team members.
  • Provide primary design support to the Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise (education, research, and publishing division), which represents approximately 50% of the role.
  • Support 3-5 live education programs annually, requiring extended hours during program delivery.
  • Remain flexible and responsive to feedback in a client-centric, high-performance environment.
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability required, particularly during major programs and tight project timelines.


Qualifications



  • Minimum 3 years of professional design experience (experience in corporate, professional services, finance, or higher education environments preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in:


    • PowerPoint (including animation)

    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe InDesign


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and print production processes.
  • Strong understanding of digital and print design requirements.
  • Ability to independently manage a high volume of deliverables with competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and handle last-minute requests with professionalism and precision.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality output.
  • Comfortable incorporating feedback and revising work as needed.


Work Arrangement



  • Primarily remote position.
  • Occasional in-person meetings and events at the Cambridge, MA office.
  • Periodic evening and weekend work required, especially during live programs.
