ARES is looking for an enthusiastic individual for the role of Export Control Analyst on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration Contract.

The Export Control Analyst will:

  • Provide analysis of exports to ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations
  • Perform export classification review processes and submit for approval
  • Integrate Export Control products across multiple NASA programs
  • Assess requests and make recommendations for commodity export jurisdiction/classification as well as foreign national access to NASA technology
  • Perform review of policy and operational procedures and provide recommendations and impacts to multiple NASA Center Export Administrators, Multiple NASA Programs, and NASA Headquarters
  • Provide support to the NASA Export Control Representative for export record analysis and approval, review/approval of website content, approval of imagery to release to the public, Scientific and Technical Information (STI) and physical and logistical access to export-controlled technology by foreign nationals.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Export classification experience (ITAR and EAR) for Hardware, Software and Technology/Tech Data
  • EAR/ITAR Authorization (license) development and management experience
  • Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Capacity to quickly gather accurate data
  • Guided by in depth analytical skills and perceptive interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize several tasks simultaneously (proven multi-tasking skills)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Ability to pass a government security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Consistent history of maintaining professional behavior which enhances productivity and promotes teamwork & cooperation
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact and produce results in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule
  • Ability to work outside conventional schedule and adjust hours to support product surge periods
  • Ability to commute to local and travel to distant installations as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, Documentation for Export Compliance and Ethics in Trade
  • Knowledge of engineering/technical processes in the Aerospace/Defense Industry
  • Experience in EAR/ITAR Authorization (license) development and management
  • Previous experience working with NASA or NASA contractors

Education & Relevant Work Experience:

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5 to 10 years of applicable experience (TP2)
