Description
Responsible for ensuring the facility and machinery used to produce products and support the facility operate at their maximum efficiency and output with the highest regard for safety. This includes but not limited to managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment. Performing and monitoring preventive maintenance program, develop metrics and reporting for maintenance indicators such as MTTR (mean time to repair), MTBF (mean time between failures), equipment uptime, PM percentage complete. Management and oversight of people/budget/cost/reporting for Maintenance and Safety & Security functions. Essential Job Functions:
- Provide managerial oversight for maintenance/safety/environmental/security personnel.
- Determine schedules and assignments based on priority, as determined by safety requirements, production needs, quantity of equipment, and skill of available personnel.
- Maintain and improve Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Ensure maintenance and safety ticket work is properly prioritized and assigned for timely completion.
- Develop and report Metrics to support performance of equipment and personnel.
- Maintain database of repairs for record retrieval and recommend equipment repair/replacement program and incorporate in PM Programs.
- Manage parts and tools inventories to ensure maintenance has the necessary supply to remain productive.
- Ensure safe and adequate working conditions by continuously monitoring work areas and communicating concerns with maintenance team to appropriate management and/or human resources.
- Conduct and/or arrange team training in safety, security, repair, maintenance techniques and proper equipment use as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Participate in the budget preparation and maintain operational cost data for the maintenance department.
- Assist with special installations and projects as assigned and required.
- Monitor teamwork quality and skill and conduct annual performance reviews.
- Uphold Company policies and procedures and address employee relations concerns regarding assigned team members.
- Review, evaluate and coordinate completion of work bid by outside contractors.
Additional Duties:
- May be required to drive own vehicle or company vehicle between buildings, to pick up maintenance tools/equipment/parts offsite at vendor locations.
- Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
- Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
- Must remain current with and complete all required training as assigned.
- Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years supervisory/management experience
- 10+ years of prior experience in maintenance, engineering, safety or other related field(s)
- Working knowledge of safe work practices, OSHA, industry, and government compliance requirements.
- Strong Verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
- Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
- Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
- May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education:
- Advanced degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience
