Summary/Purpose of the Position:
The Offset Digital Bindery II will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of bindery equipment, including but not limited to folders, sheeters, stitch liners, perf and scoring machines, three-hole drills, cutters, friction feeders, and shrink wrappers. This position will also be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate production of high-quality printed materials, while also providing guidance and support to other bindery operators. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot bindery equipment such as folders, sheeters, stitch liners, perf and scoring machines, three-hole drills, cutters, friction feeders, and shrink wrappers
- Read and understand work orders and job specifications for accurate and timely production of printed materials
- Adjust machinery as needed for optimal efficiency and quality
- Follow company safety regulations and procedures for maintaining a safe working environment
- Maintain bindery equipment for proper working order
- Package and process completed orders for shipment
- Provide guidance and support to other bindery operators
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating various bindery equipment
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
- Complete tasks efficiently and within specified timeframes
- Communicate effectively with management regarding any issues or concerns
- Update job status in company database and provide timely feedback to customers
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed
- Indirectly and or directly responsible for product quality
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of experience in bindery operations or related field
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient in math and able to read a ruler
- Basic computer skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary
