JOB ANNOUNCEMENT WEB DEVELOPMENT LEAD Department of Technology & Innovation Delivery Division Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies pending budget approval possible) Starting Salary: $120,144.00 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on 03/13/2026. Under direction, this is a Lead classification. This class is primarily supervisory in nature overseeing the web development and design units and performs related duties as required. This class is assigned to the Leadership Technology Job Family which consists of positions responsible for overseeing the identification, prioritization, and delivery of work activities, coach and developing employees, providing thought leadership to business partners, and shaping and executing the technology vision and strategy to maximize business values. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Manages and directs the work of Web Designers, Web Developers, and Mobile Developers engaged in designing the overall layout and aesthetic for websites, designing computer applications for web-enabled business systems, and creation of user-facing applications * Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results * Completes performance appraisals for subordinate staff, administers disciplinary functions, and approves staff time off requests * Plans, organizes, and controls resources, procedures, and protocols to bring about beneficial changes and/or added value to the City's website functionality * Defines the scope of web development projects, advising on scope changes and quality assurance aspects of the project * Provides technical and analytical guidance to the project team * Coordinates teams, including vendors and contractors to create websites * Reviews progress, manages resources, and ensures overall quality of completed website, ensuring website interfaces with existing software and systems Additional duties may be required for this position Location: 2 N. La Salle Street, Suite 1010 Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00pm (flexible) THIS POSITION IS NOT IN CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
Five (5) years of work experience in the design, development, and implementation of applications and websites, OR * Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree, PLUS three (3) years of work experience in the design, development, and implementation of applications and websites, OR * Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher, PLUS one (1) year of work experience in the design, development, and implementation of applications and websites SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview.
