Job Title: Civil Engineer Salary Range: $85,000- $110,000 Primary Office Locations: Greenville, SC (Preferred) Education Requirements: B.S. Civil Engineering Licensure Requirements: PE License in at least on US State (SC Preferred) Experience Requirements: 3-7+ Years of Design Experience w/ Industrial Wastewater; 1-2+ Years of Project Management Experience Travel Requirements: <10% Technical Capabilities:
- Prepare civil engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications for:
- Site development and grading
- Stormwater management and erosion control
- Water, wastewater, and industrial utility systems
- Develop and review engineering reports, feasibility studies and basis-of-design documents
- Apply local, state and federal design standards (AASHTO, EPA, DOT, Municipal Standards)
- Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates and constructability reviews
Physical & Work Environment
- Combination of office and field work at active industrial facilities
- Periodic travel for site assessments, construction support, and regulator meetings
- Ability to access treatment systems and comply with PPE and safety requirements
Personal Capabilities
- Independently leads and manages land development projects
- Service as the primary point of contact or technical lead for projects
- Exercises professional judgment with limited supervision
- Reviews technical deliverables and responds to RFIs
- Performs reviews of QA/QC design deliverables
- Mentors junior staff and contributes to business development
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory permitting processes
- Familiarity with construction administration and contractor coordination
Typical Job Tasks:
- Project Execution:
- Coordinate with internal disciplines (structural, environmental, mechanical, electrical) and external consultants.
- Interface with clients to clarify technical requirements and design intent.
- Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and change requests.
- Provide construction phase support, including site visits and field observations.
- Permitting & Regulatory:
- Prepare and support permit applications for municipal and industrial projects, including:
- Stormwater (NPDES, SWPPP)
- Utility connections
- Land disturbance and site plan approvals
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and reviewing authorities.
- Ensure designs comply with environmental, zoning, and land-use requirements.
- Provide technical leadership during regulatory inspections, audits, and enforcement actions
- Review laboratory data and establish treatment performance metrics and compliance targets
- Provide technical input for proposals, feasibility studies, and regulatory strategy documents
