Overview:

A Certified Yoga Instructor leads safe, engaging, and effective yoga classes for individuals or groups. They design and deliver sessions that promote physical fitness, mental clarity, flexibility, strength, and overall well-being while ensuring proper technique and injury prevention.

A Meditation Instructor guides individuals or groups through structured meditation practices designed to improve mental clarity, emotional balance, stress management, and overall well-being. The instructor creates a calm, supportive environment and adapts techniques to meet participants' needs and experience levels.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead yoga classes.
• Demonstrate proper alignment, breathing techniques, and posture modifications.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and peaceful atmosphere.
• Provide personalized guidance and adjustments when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of yoga techniques, trends, and wellness practices.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• Demonstrate honesty, punctuality, respect, courtesy, and cooperative attitude.
• Remain at the assigned volunteer placement for the duration of the volunteer period except by mutual agreement of all parties.
• Maintain confidentiality guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Certification from a recognized yoga training program (e.g., 200-hour or 500-hour RYT).
• Experience with meditation, breathwork (pranayama), or mindfulness techniques.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, alignment, and injury prevention.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to guide groups with clarity and confidence.
• Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
