The Cirrus Logic embedded software team is seeking a summer intern who will be working in support of signal processing algorithm development. This may be in the areas of audio and/or battery power systems. The candidate may perform laboratory experimentation, data collection, and/or analysis on software algorithms targeted for real-time embedded systems. Candidate must be able to work equally well in either independent or team efforts and will be mentored by a senior engineer. Candidate must possess a propensity for creativity and innovation. Candidate must be insightful and highly effective at communicating ideas. It is preferred that the candidate be able to work part time during the school year.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct experiments and collect data in real-life environments or acoustical laboratories (listening rooms, vehicular acoustics lab, or anechoic chamber)
  • Conduct experiments on lithium-ion batteries in a battery test lab
  • Document created test methods and educate colleagues on how to conduct the tests
  • Write MATLAB simulation code for the investigation of algorithms
  • Document designed algorithms and present findings to the research team, development team, and Marketing.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • M.S. candidate specializing in signal processing (e.g., electrical engineering)
  • Matlab fluency
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organization
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Ph.D. candidate specializing in signal processing (e.g., electrical engineering)
  • Python fluency
  • C programming
  • Experience conducting experiments and collecting data in a laboratory
  • Familiarity with pro audio equipment
  • Familiarity with equipment used in power systems (e.g., battery cyclers)
  • Signal processing
  • Elementary electrical circuit analysis
Cirrus Logic follows a 2+ day in-office work schedule but interns should expect to be in the office more often, up to 5 days per week, based on business needs and team preference. Interns must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning their internship with Cirrus Logic.
Export control restrictions based upon applicable laws and regulations would prohibit candidates who are nationals of certain embargoed countries from working in this position without Cirrus Logic first obtaining an export license. Candidates for this role must be able to access technical data without a requirement for an export license. We are unable to sponsor or obtain export licenses for this role.
