Job Description

As the Product Manager at Rockwell Automation, you will join the FactoryTalk Optix product management team and will manage primarily the positioning and functionality of software on team's closed hardware appliances, such as OptixPanel, OptixEdge, the Logix Embedded Edge Compute, and other future developments. You will report to Business Manager Software. You will work Hybrid either in Mayfield Heights, Ohio or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the definition and characterization of our software and hardware offerings, developing guidance that helps customers select the right hardware for their use cases, including deployments from edge to cloud.
  • Develop a long-term, sustainable vision for our closed hardware solutions that anticipates industry trends and competitive pressures, articulating a compelling rationale for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with the hardware team to cocreate a unified vision and provide clear comparisons of hardware features across panel options.
  • Create sales enablement materials that equip others to consistently and effectively deliver your messaging.
  • Represent FactoryTalk Optix and its hardware deployment options during customer-facing meetings and events, clearly communicating the value and benefits of our hardware portfolio.
  • Champion the intake of customer and industry insights by actively seeking and participating in a wide range of customer interactions across relevant technology areas.
  • Create and maintain product requirements that differentiate the flexible deployment options of FactoryTalk Optix.
  • Craft meaningful product capabilities that align with customer demands for value including business justification, technical requirements.
  • Manage the progression of capabilities in enterprise tools such as Jira, Jira Align, Jama
  • Balance and prioritize demands with funding, resources, and other constraints.
  • Creates partnerships with engineering to align customer expectations with development of product/solutions.
  • Advocates for the end-user and shapes the customer experience within the product.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelors Degree in relevant field.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Work experience resulting in exposure of the application of visualization and IOT solutions, ideally in multiple industries.
  • Knowledge and experience in automation, operational IT, and Industry 4.0 / Industrial Internet of Things.
  • Knowledge of our PanelView, OptixPanel, and PanelView 5000 portfolio.
  • Motivated team player in global cross functional teams.
  • Strong presentation and collaboration skills
  • Be a creative problem solver who is comfortable forging a new path
  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve variety of issues.
