Entry Level Technician I - Job Description Top Skills (Required) * Entrylevel experience or completion of a lowvoltage trade school program * Reliable transportation to the Temple site * Comfortable working at heights * OSHA10 certified or able to obtain certification Secondary Skills (Nice to Have) * Prior experience in cabling, telecom, or lowvoltage environments * Familiarity with data center environments Primary Responsibilities Core Duties * Pull and route cable according to project specifications * Assist Cable Technician II and follow direction from senior team members * Run and handle materials throughout the job site * Use hand and power tools safely and effectively * Climb ladders and work in elevated areas Installation Tasks * Layout and install wireway, bus duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and related devices * Build and outfit telecom closets, including: * Mounting backboards * Installing crossconnects, racks, patch panels, and fiber hardware * Installing grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling * Complete IDC terminations (110/66 blocks, patch panels) * Pull wire and/or oversee conduit installation and wire pulling * Operate twohanded tools such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers Tools Required Candidates must possess and be proficient with: * Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips) * Drywall saw * Torpedo level * Tape measure * Snips with belt sheath * Needlenose and channellock pliers * Hammer * Cable stripper * Flashlight * Work gloves Additional Requirements * Ability to lift 40 lbs * Valid driver's license * Reliable transportation * Ability to work long shifts and maintain productivity * Strong growth potential: IES promotes from within and supports career development * Longterm project: Major FluidStack Data Center buildout in Barker, NY (minimum 2year duration) * Crossdepartment opportunities: Telecom, security, and communications teams offer multiple career paths Work Environment * Onsite at the FluidStack Data Center in Barker, NY * Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 5:45 PM, with rampup to 5 days/week, 10hour shifts * PPE required: steeltoe boots, safety vest, gloves, safety glasses (PPE provided by IES except boots) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barker, NY.
