Application Architect

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Power BI Developer - Hybrid (3 days onsite) position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer to support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives. This role requires deep hands-on development experience, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to clearly present insights and best practices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will work closely with technical and business teams to translate requirements into effective analytics solutions and help drive Power BI adoption across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Spend approximately 70% of time on Power BI development, including report/dashboard creation, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, administration, and text-based queries
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to dataset refreshes, gateways, permissions, performance, and Power BI service configurations
• Support multiple tenants and help teams overcome challenges in implementing and scaling Power BI capabilities
• Spend approximately 30% of time presenting, including leading COE office hours, user education sessions, and stakeholder walkthroughs
• Partner with technical and business teams to translate requirements into effective analytics solutions
• Provide guidance, best practices, and hands-on support to help drive Power BI adoption across the organization
• Wear multiple hats as needed in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• Deep hands-on Power BI development experience, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Power BI datasets, gateways, refreshes, security, and performance optimization
• Solid SQL skills and comfort working with relational data sources
• Confident communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills for user education and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter, providing leadership and guidance without heavy oversight
• Experience collaborating with both technical and business partners
• Proficiency with SQL and data modeling concepts
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Desired skills:

• Data modeling experience is a strong plus
• Finance or banking industry experience is a plus but not required

Pay range: $58.31 - $66.31 per hour
