What You'll Do:
The Senior Production Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of assigned commodities and production materials to support manufacturing operations. This role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier performance, cost management, and ensuring material availability while maintaining quality and delivery standards. The position requires advanced knowledge of supply chain operations, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develops and executes sourcing strategies for assigned commodities to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity.
- Analyzes market trends, supplier capabilities, and risk factors affecting commodity pricing and availability.
- Leads supplier selection, qualification, and contract negotiation activities.
- Identifies and drives cost-reduction opportunities and year-over-year savings initiatives.
- Ensures timely procurement of production materials to support manufacturing schedules and inventory targets.
- Monitors MRP signals, purchase orders, and supplier delivery performance.
- Resolves supply shortages, quality issues, and delivery delays in a proactive and timely manner.
- Collaborates with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support production requirements.
- Manages strategic supplier relationships and conducts regular performance reviews focused on on-time delivery, quality, and cost.
- Leads supplier business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supports supplier development efforts and risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensures supplier compliance with company standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Negotiates pricing, payment terms, and long-term supply agreements.
- Maintains accurate cost data and supports cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Tracks and reports cost savings, purchase price variance (PPV), and key procurement metrics.
- Ensures compliance with procurement policies, SOX controls, and internal procedures.
- Leads or supports supply chain improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Maintains accurate and complete records within ERP/MRP systems.
- Other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment, including commodity management, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, production purchasing, and material planning processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, advanced negotiation, cost management, and supplier relationship management.
- Proven ability to analyze data, assess and mitigate supply risk, and make sound business decisions.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

What you may be doing:

Compensation & Benefits: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
