Environmental Support and Operations Maintenance (ESOM) Journeyman Electrician

The Environmental Support and Operations Maintenance (ESOM) Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex facility and environmental support systems in an industrial manufacturing setting. This role supports reliable plant operations by maintaining electrical infrastructure and associated building systems (e.g., HVAC interfaces, controls, utilities), ensuring safe performance and compliance with applicable codes and site safety requirements.

Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, wiring, circuits, panels, and components
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs to minimize downtime
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems
• Test and verify electrical systems using diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal imaging cameras)
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards (including National Electrical Code/NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E)
• Follow established safety protocols, including proper PPE use and lockout/tagout procedures
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
• Work safely in environments where hazardous materials may be present, and perform work in confined spaces and at heights as required
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of ESOM operations

Skills/Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of commercial/industrial electrical systems installation, maintenance, and repair
• Strong understanding of electrical/electronic principles (including ability to compute/measure resistance, inductance, capacitance, voltage, and current)
• Proficiency troubleshooting complex circuitry and control systems
• Skilled with electrical test instruments (e.g., test lamps, multimeters, circuit analyzers, breaker testers, voltage recorders, megohm meters, wattmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters)
• Working knowledge of related trades and systems (e.g., power generation and HVAC interfaces)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other trades
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to respond professionally to government/customer inquiries
• Demonstrated flexibility to manage shifting priorities and multiple tasks
• Visual ability to distinguish colors, contrast, and depth necessary for electrical work

• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environments.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and automation systems.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or completed apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing industrial electrical work.

Licensure:

• Licensed as an industrial electrician.

• May require flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, based on operational needs.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
