MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's Degree.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Research Coordination - Assists faculty and residents in developing appropriate research questions. Secures funding. Performs and coordinates all aspects of logistics for research studies. Secures biostatistical and epidemiological assistance with study manuscripts. Provides all bibliographic and editorial assistance with study manuscripts. Submits manuscripts to appropriate journals and publication.

2. Coordinates grant process both pre- and post-award. Identifies granting agencies, corporations and foundations. Writes grant applications in approved format prior to deadlines. Processes all expenses associated with studies. Provides accounting for grant expenditures. Secures extended funding when necessary. Assists principal investigators.

3. Develops the operating budget for studies and processes payments for human subjects, invoices and other expenses associated with studies.

4. Assists in networking opportunities and continuing education. Coordinates two annual departmental conferences; one is an internal research conference and the other is a clinical meeting with approval from the Office of Continuing Education (CME). The primary audience for the CME accredited conference is resident alumni from the department and orthopaedic surgeons from around the state.
