Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs) using surface mount technology, ensuring precision and quality throughout the process. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set-up, operate, and shut-down feeders, screener, oven and wash equipment. Assist in machine changeovers.
- Perform daily and routine maintenance on feeders, screener, oven and wash equipment.
- Pick parts for jobs and return parts to stock.
- Clean Stencils and Squeegees; Wash boards
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of related materials (solder paste and cleaning solutions).
- Knowledge of proper mixing of related solutions (paste and thinner).
- Keep work cell clean at all times.
- Communicate crib, purchasing, manufacturing, and engineering problems to the Cell Lead.
- Keep records of product work in progress (WIP).
- Identify resistor color bands and wire colors (black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, grey, white, silver, and gold).
- Use of statistical process control techniques.
- Push, pull, lift, and obtain/carry assembly parts requiring lifting 40 lbs. from floor height to shoulder height.
- Keep product throughput data.
- Other duties as assigned by the line coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school education or equivalent
- Experience in electronics manufacturing
- Knowledge of electronic components.
- Experience in the operation of SMT equipment is essential
- Ability to read, understand and communicate in English both written and oral Computer skills should include MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Knowledge of wash, pick and place, screener, oven and related process functions. Knowledge of SMT equipment and materials and their use.
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed.
