Hourly Pay Range:

$42.54 - $65.94 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Manager - Public Safety
  • Location: Evanston Hospital - Floating to other Endeavor Health hospital sites as needed
  • Full Time- 40hrs
  • Hours: Days - 8am- 4:30pm
  • Days: Monday- Friday
  • On Call

What you will do:

The System Manager, Public Safety Operations oversees the daily operations, implementation and execution of security policy/procedures as it relates to the Public Safety Department which includes training and development of personnel, development of relationships with partnering departments both inside and external to Endeavor Health. This includes administration and roll out of any Public Safety programs and exercises.

  • Manage daily operations for the Public Safety department for all campuses including budgeting, employee engagement, staff development initiatives including yearly reviews of direct reports, periodic check points with staff, facilitation of regular staff meetings, assistance with training and development of hospital staff on Public Safety related topics.
  • Oversight to the Security Operations Center for the health system including budgeting, personnel, training and overall maintenance of all systems therein.
  • Participation in any and all committees and meetings concerning safety, security and emergency management.
  • Partner with the Public Safety Administration & Training System Manager on policy development and review, training program development and compliance with any and all regulatory requirements as set forth by the Joint Commission, IDPH, CMS, IEMA, OSHA as well as any other regulatory agencies.
  • Preparation of the Public Safety Department Monthly Report which includes but is not limited to key performance indicators, project status, incident reports summary, testing documentation, current issues, concerns or barriers to high reliability performance.
  • Maintain relationships with all outside law enforcement agencies.
  • Oversight to all security related technology, including design, implementation and maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education, Experience and/or Skills Required:

  • Associate's degree in related field with five years of Public Safety or Law Enforcement experience, preferably in healthcare and three years of leadership experience OR
  • 7-10 years Public Safety or Law Enforcement leadership experience
  • Technology proficiency, experience with security systems such as access control systems, video management systems and computer aided dispatch and incident report management systems.

Education, Experience and/or Skills Preferred:

  • Membership to IAHSS and/or ASIS
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

License/Certification Required:

  • Valid driver's license
