Mortgage Loan Originators are responsible for the origination of residential mortgage real estate loans for purchase, new construction, or refinancing of existing mortgage loans; and, developing prospect calls to generate business referrals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: North Shore Bank's Position Descriptions are intended to describe only the major functions of the job. You may be expected to perform other duties specified by your manager. Everyone is expected to contribute whatever efforts necessary to operate efficiently and effectively to insure the success of the Bank. Develops residential real estate mortgage business; develops and maintains a call program with builders, brokers, real estate agents, and developers; provides information on lending policies, procedures, and products. This requires work outside of the general branch office in order to make customer visits as well as, hosting bank events in order to prospect for referrals. This position will have a primary office in the Brookfield Capitol branch, and may require travel to Pewaukee, Sussex, or other locations in the area as needed. Prequalifies prospective applicants by analyzing their financial status, credit history, and employment verification to determine the feasibility of loan approval. Takes loan applications from potential customers; maintains contact with applicants, brokers and correspondents regarding the current status of the application and gather any additional initial required documentation; explains terms and conditions to loan applicants; analyzes the loan to determine eligibility for a loan as it relates to policies and procedures of the bank. Informs applicants of the mortgage approval process and any costs associated with it such as appraisals and credit reports. Answers applicants' questions throughout the loan process. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Four-year college degree in a business related field such as finance, from an accredited college or university, is strongly preferred. Additional course work or work experience in real estate is preferred. Minimum of 3 years sales experience in a related capacity is required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: This position requires registration through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) under the terms of the SAFE Act of 2008. Applicants must (1) have an active NMLS ID that is in good standing, and can be transferred to North Shore Bank's registry, or (2) must be willing to register prior to start date. Your employment with North Shore Bank is contingent upon successful registration and annual re-registration thereafter.
