PANEL OPERATOR




Responsibilities:




  • Perform duties to operate panel line to laminate paper on cores in accordance with established quality standards and job specifications.


  • Work from panel line set-up procedures, work instructions, panel department housekeeping checklists, production orders, CAD drawings and verbal instructions.
  • Typical tasks include:



  1. Review production order for material, job specifications and special requirements; notify lead/supervisor of any errors or improved methods of production.
  2. Verify staged material in area is in accordance with the panel schedule and production order specifications.
  3. Set all panel line equipment to produce defined product.
  4. Perform quality checks and measurements on panels in required intervals.
  5. Monitor line performance and make necessary adjustments throughout run.
  6. Splice in core and paper as required.
  7. Maintain an orderly workstation.
  8. Sharpen trim blades as necessary.
  9. Set up printing on panels as necessary.
  10. Notify Team Leader of unusual material or equipment problems immediately.
  11. Ensure pallets are made for upcoming orders.
  12. Attend and participate in regular team meetings.
  13. Assist maintenance department with machine repairs as needed.
  14. Prepare for next orders.




  • Operate forklift and clamp truck
  • Use caliper, tape measure, safety cutter, hand pneumatic grinder, calculator, and other hand tools.
  • Follow safety rules and housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure quality checks are accurate and complete.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.



Basic Qualifications:



3 years minimum experience as a honeycomb panel line operator


GED or High School Diploma


Be a minimum of 18 years old


Must be authorized to work in the U.S.



Preferred Qualifications:



5 years of experience as a panel line operator


Experience working in a behavior-based safety culture


Forklift/Clamp truck experience

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS




  • Starting salary for position: $26.24 per hour.
  • Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
  • Paid Vacation: 2 weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
  • Paid Holidays.
  • Within the first 30 days of employment, an employee (and their dependents) is eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages -- medical, dental, and vision - and are automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
