Assistant Land Surveyor/LSIT Role Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Land Surveyor/LSIT at our Phoenix office. This role is ideal for an LSIT with strong technical expertise and project delivery experience across boundary, topographic, land title, and construction surveys. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality survey products, supporting project management efforts, mentoring technical staff, and collaborating closely with engineers, architects, and clients. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects within a collaborative, employee-owned professional services environment. Location: Phoenix, Arizona Reports to: Survey Manager Employment type: 40 FT Hours Registration(s): Arizona LSIT Required Duties:
- Produce and oversee CAD deliverables for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title, and construction surveys.
- Perform competent-level AutoCAD Civil 3D work, including point management, surface creation and processing, and drafting support for survey deliverables.
- Conduct initial boundary determinations for review and final determination by the Survey Manager.
- Review, process, and verify field survey data, measurements, and calculations.
- Research survey records, deeds, plats, and land title information to support boundary analysis.
- Prepare legal descriptions and survey-related exhibits.
- Coordinate survey data and findings with engineers, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Assist with tracking project scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Support and collaborate with field crews, ensuring technical accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare maps, charts, plots, records, and documentation related to survey projects.
- Perform additional survey-related tasks as required to support project success.

- Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the PM on assigned project tasks.
- Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects.
- Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.
- Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish tasks.
- Effectively leads, creates, plans, executes project tasks on a project.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of professional land surveying experience.
- Arizona LSIT Required.
- Competent proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Point management, Surface Creation/Processing and Calculations).
- Strong understanding of boundary surveying principles and practices.
- Experience interpreting design plans and performing field surveying and staking calculations.
- Proficiency with written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) for GPS processing and survey adjustments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in mentoring technical and field survey staff.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, type/key-in data
- May lift and carry up to 50 pounds, hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment
- The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
- Employee may be asked to walk on uneven terrain
- May work in extreme weather conditions
- Bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments
- Carry and use brush cutting equipment
- May drive survey vehicle
