Job Description

The University of Missouri is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Student Recruitment Specialist to help us recruit the next generation of Tigers. This position will act as a senior-level Admissions Representative in the Office of Admissions. They will assist in supervising Admissions Representatives and student staff located across two campus buildings and will serve as a mentor for in-office Admissions Representatives.

Qualified candidates will be passionate about higher education, eager to join a fun and hard-working team and excited to travel around Missouri and surrounding states. This position will provide information about Mizzou and the college planning process to prospective students, parents and high school counselors. Qualified candidates will be passionate about higher education and eager to be an active member on the Admissions Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities include:

-Overseeing the new hire training and onboarding for new admissions recruitment staff. This position is also responsible for ongoing training throughout the year for recruitment staff including semiannual recruiter training retreats in the spring and fall.

-Assisting with the oversight of student ambassadors and student staff. This includes managing meetings, hiring, training and scheduling.

-Working closely with the Assistant/Associate Directors in Admissions regarding day-to-day operations. This position will also develop plans for implementation of new procedures regarding the campus visit.

-Assisting the Admissions Events Team with the coordination of student recruitment events including working with venues, outside vendors and transportation.

-Maintaining a small recruitment territory and visiting high schools, attending college fairs and communicating with families, counselors and students. This position will represent MU extensively in numerous public forums, on-campus and off-campus events and at professional meetings. They will present admissions sessions to groups ranging from 20-300 people.

-Developing recruitment strategy for their assigned territory, including reviewing and analyzing data to determine schools, fairs and events to attend. They will schedule visits to high schools, coordinate pre-visit correspondence, make travel arrangements, conduct visits and follow up post-visit.

-Reading admission and scholarship applications.

Shift

40 hours/week, some evening and weekend responsibilities required

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

* Enthusiastic candidates who work well independently as well as in a team.
* Experience presenting to groups of 50 or more individuals
* Qualified candidates will possess the ability to prioritize and organize multiple work assignments simultaneously.
* Qualified candidates will be highly organized, detail-oriented and adaptable to change given the nature of the position.
* Qualified candidates will have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and/or CRMs, including Slate
* Knowledge of the University of Missouri campus, programs and the Office of Admissions

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $23.00-$27.00 hourly

Grade: GGS-008
