Job Description

1. Purpose

The Project Engineer supports plant engineering projects and manages corporate programs related to building systems, infrastructure, and operational improvement. The role works across multiple locations and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute safe, efficient, and effective project solutions.

2. Responsibilities

2.1 Safety & Security

* Maintain awareness of facility systems and follow procedures to ensure safe, event-free operations.

* Respond to emergencies or potential emergencies according to established procedures.

* Observe, respond to, and report any process or product non-conformity.

* Maintain security diligence by controlling key cards, preventing unauthorized facility access, and safeguarding company equipment.

2.2 Training

* Successfully complete Primary Duties outlined in Section 4.0 and associated training.

3. Authorities

* Pause work and notify the Safety Lead when encountering unsafe environments or practices.

* Initiate actions to prevent occurrences of non-conformity in products or quality systems.

* Recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

* Suggest and verify actions for continual improvement of products, processes, facilities, and systems.

4. Primary Duties

Tasks assigned by the CPE Director or Manager, including:

4.1 Project Leadership

* Manage projects related to plant engineering, infrastructure improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.

* Plan and manage capital projects or support plant personnel as required.

4.2 Standards & Best Practices

* Establish guidelines for plant systems to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards.

* Report and implement corporate best practices across facilities.

* Communicate best practices and lead training for technical teams at the site level.

4.3 Cost & Efficiency Improvement

* Identify and drive cost-reduction opportunities related to utilities and efficiency improvements.

* Evaluate OEM vendors and build strategic relationships that support high-quality, cost-effective solutions with long-term value.

4.4 Facility & Infrastructure Support

* Support equipment moves, plant consolidations, and expansions to ensure infrastructure readiness.

* Evaluate plants during site visits to ensure safe and efficient operations.

* Troubleshoot infrastructure system issues and assist plants with problem resolution.

* Assess existing facilities or planned expansions to establish initial project budgets.

* Provide infrastructure project priorities across business units.

5. Qualifications / Education Required

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required; degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Preferred

* Strong written and oral communication skills.

* Proven ability to conceptualize, design, lead, and manage projects.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

* Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; 2D CAD experience preferred.

* Foundational business acumen and understanding of capex vs. opex preferred.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $0 to $0; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $0 to $0 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
