Responsibilities

We are building a new, modern mobile experience for patients and families seeking and receiving care. The Associate Software Engineer will be a foundational member of the mobile platform team, helping to design, build, and scale a secure, compliant, and high-quality healthcare mobile application.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who wants to grow quickly across mobile engineering, data integration, AI-enabled experiences, and patient experience (PX) design principles in a real-world healthcare environment.

You will contribute to both product features and platform capabilities that will be reused across multiple mobile experiences over time.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information science, informatics, computer science, data management or related field or 6 years of related work experience.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience in software development. If a new graduate, internships and team/project-based work will be considered.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following: React Native, Flutter, Swift (iOS) or Kotlin (Android), Java, Javascript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, Python
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of the following: Component-based UI development, Rest APIs and JSON, Version Control
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of the following: Object-oriented programming, data structures, debugging and troubleshooting techniques, basic testing principles (unit tests, integration tests)
  • Familiarity with the following: RESTful APIs, Authentication (OAuth, JWT, or similar)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security and compliance best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence peers.
  • Stong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment by working closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI design, and QA
  • In-depth understanding of relational databases, unstructured data and softwares. Mulesoft and/or modern API development.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing solutions compliant with Healthcare regulatory rules including HIPAA and CFR42, secure coding principles.
  • Knowledge and experience with complex data structures and business models.
  • Experience with the following: App Store / Play Store submission process, CI/CD for Mobile (Fastlane, Github actions), Mobile performance optimization,
  • Basic exposure to SQL or data querying, Event tracking (e.g., Segment, Snowflake, Amplitude), data pipelines and ETL concepts
  • Working knowledge of: How AI chat systems work at a high level, API-based AI integrations (sending prompts), Basic concepts like embeddings, retrieval, or vector search
